All danced out!

Natalie recently invited me to her church dance (day) camp and it waz da BOMBZ, yo!
All participants could choose between Hip Hop or Contemporary for their dance electives, (guess which one I chose) but we had mass workouts of both genres all together. Most of the participants chose contemporary, I think. The whole course of the camp was supposed to be held over 4 days, but Nat and I could only make it to the first two because we were having the performing arts camp on the other two. Nonetheless, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves there and I didn't even care when I woke up on the second day having muscle cramps and backaches all over. We learnt basic popping moves and some hip hop ones for the mass workout (I didn't bother going for the contemporary mass workout =X) and I SWEAR I hadn't had this much fun in a loooooooooong time. The two hours of workout felt like 15 minutes!

Then we got into the real dance workouts. Our instructor/choreographer was Ryan from O School, and he told me he's taught dance at BV before. :o Anyhoo, the choreography he thought of on the spot was so smooth we had so much fun trying to execute the moves even though we either kept messing up and/or forgetting our steps. I've always liked hip hop ever since I don't know when, but now that I've taken a first stepping stone by attempting to learn it, I actually feel really connected with my "outer" self, like I've broken out of an old shell after doing my best (considering I'm not much of a dancer myself, haha) in giving my all to do the moves I envied to do so badly. Well, some of them at least.

All in all, the experience still is unforgettable. I'm so glad Lorraine and Nat talked me into going. Thanks guys! And next time there's another camp we'll go together. :D

This is the record-breaking 5th/6th day of a darn irritating cough. I just ate my medicine and I hope my body will allow me to attend the full-day band practice tomorrow.

Ciao.
